According to the Watertrough Childrens Alliance (WCA) in an email below, bad apple wine maker Paul Hobbs has begun spraying herbicides on the vineyard that he converted from an apple orchard. The last School Board Meeting of the Apple Blossom School will occur today in the Teacher's Break Room. The school is located at 700 Watertrough Road slightly West of Sebastopol. The meeting starts at 4:30 and the public comment time is scheduled for 5:15. There are around 700 students in five schools at this location, as well as teachers, staff, and family members who pick children up. Neighbors and parents have been fighting this operation since 2013. Please consider coming to join us.

The spraying of herbicides has begun on the 47 acres of vineyard surrounding Apple Blossom Elementary, Orchard View School and adjacent to SunRidge School on Watertrough Road.

Spraying occurred in February with no prior notification to the School District.

If this concerns you and you would like additional information or would like to voice your opinions and suggestions please come to the LAST School Board Meeting of the school year at 4:30pm this Thursday May 14th at Apple Blossom School in the Teacher’s Break Room.

The School Board does not believe that anyone is still concerned about this issue.

Are You?

Please Come and be Heard!

There should be information on:

Ongoing work in the vineyard.

A Resolution to Support Adoption of a Sonoma County School Protection Zone Ordinance.

New state regulations regarding pesticide applications near schools. This will need your attention and action as there are State Wide listening sessions coming up quickly.
