I wanted to publicly thank WACCO readers for coming to our yard sale, BBQ, and music event and making it successful yesterday! We are going to be opening up our services THIS WEEK and will be giving out free food beginning at 10 AM on Tuesday. Those who are having a difficult time making ends meet are welcome to call us from 10-12 and from 4-6 PM ONLY on Tuesday and Thursdays and arrange to come during those hours on that day. Because of limitations in volunteers and funding we are asking the community to respect these hours. Anyone wanting to sign up for this can do so. We are hoping to have primarily healthy food given out.
Local produce is NEEDED so if you have extra's from your garden we are happy to receive them by arrangement (yes even zucchini and tomotoes). There is a simple sign up sheet which asks for a basic ID and for info on who is in the family/household and any specifics in terms of your dietary restrictions/needs, etc. The call in number to be used on Tuesdays and Thursdays is 829-5090.
Our Thrift Store will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon until 4 to start. Please remember that the Thrift Store will be here to support the food pantry so your donations and purchases will go into helping to establish this overall program. Everyone helping with Love Your Neighbor is a volunteer. It is really Neighbor Helping Neighbor. We hope to primarily serve Graton, Sebastopol, and Forestville. Volunteers are needed along with the fact that we need a serious influx of grocery size paperbags to be donated. IF you have any extra food in your pantry or any CLEAN plastic bags or paper bags please drop them off! Thanks so much West County! ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX-DEDUCTIBLE.
