HiThis is a FYI Warning on my ATT landline experience

Paying my bills, my ATT bill (for over 15 yrs) went from $40 to $70 with no change on my part.
I made two phone calls last month and ATT runs my computer line, cell is used all the time.
I called and they said they no longer offer my program, that it is the “responsibility of the customer” to read the fine print when a change is to be made. A change was made on their part, hidden in my bill.
Gimme a break, I look at the amount and pay it. When it is double I call and ask why.

Why did they not send a letter announcing the change and offering choices?
Bottom line, after over an hour on the phone they kept reading " I am sorry" but would not accept my offer to pay my current fee with the same services. All for a computer line??

So, it is a new plan without my approval or notification, notwithstanding the caveat emptor, buyer beware, at double the price, which is on my current bill.
AND, a policy where if you leave before 12 mos you pay an additional fee!!!

This, to me, is essentially corporate blackmail, so check your ATT bill carefully.
Solution for me is Sonic, local, they speak English, provide excellent service and will be offering a bunch of new services very soon, maybe a month, in my area SW Santa Rosa. I already have them for some computer related things, now it will be tv, phone and computer
Adios, ATT, good riddance to sneaky plan changes without a clear or reasonable explanation or alternative choices.

Just wanted to share my experience

We pay $56 per month for email for one main account and a sub account and one land line. Period. It's called, I believe, their Fusion Plan. And of course, as always, their tech support for email is outstanding. Yea, Dane et al!

Wow! I just read what I wrote couple minutes ago on this subject and see that I didn't say who my provider is: It's Sonic, of course. Sorry. They are much more efficient and alert than I am, obviously.

If you don't need your landline for computer service you might want to investigate an ATT mobile landline.
This service is about $22 a month and includes unlimited nationwide calling. You can take your little modem and the phone with you wherever you go, but also have the convenience (for those of us who prefer it) of using a "real phone". I then have cell service as a pay as you go for 25 every 3 months. Total cost for the two services is about $30 p/month.
