Who can help me organize and clean up my email contacts (about 1500) from my Macintosh Mail program?

I may be off-base, but your Apple Mail program is probably linked to Contacts (or Address Book or other things Apple has called it in the past).

It's not clear what the problem is with your current contacts, but if the problem is duplicates, bad phone number formatting, etc. you might try this $5 program: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/contacts-cleaner/id411369012?mt=12. I've used it many times on my own contacts.

Thumbs up for supporting the local tech community and perhaps the combo of human plus a software tool will get you happy with your contacts.
