more mindless trashing of those with the courage to question their own people. blind tribal loyalty is a force for unjust violence and oppression.

I see. Israelis are terrorists. And Jews who support the existence of the state of Israel are mindless. Tell it to the Kurds as well. They also do not deserve their own state. The type of "courage to (merely) question" ? Your whisker of a diatribe plainly illustrates your sense of reason - and that you couldn't possibly imagine the courage it takes and has taken. Are you having the courage to question? It looks like willfully ignorant frothing regarding human rights.

Some have no choice but to do more than "question" in response to a situation at hand. As fellow scribe Mark Humphreys noticed, "The Palestinians are not being 'murdered'. They are engaged in aggressive war against Israel. They should stop."

Or - is it the kind of courage that wishes to not have a state of Israel at all? This courage, that of Hamas, values the destruction of their own people, including children, more than life. The cause being not a Palestinian state, but the destruction of Israel. A Palestinian state could be easily negotiated by Hamas in a cultivated climate of peace, trust and acceptance (a human rights value) - no one has noticed this, eh?

Get edjewcated and start reading outside your comfort zone about the recent historical and cultural facts of this area that you lack all acquaintance with via the U.S. press easily available to you. Meanwhile, here's something you seem comfortable reading:

yes I think barr's letter to fellow jews is mindless blather. I was quite disappointed to read it because she is often so funny. the whole erev rav thing is ridiculous and dangerous. the Zionist policies of Israel can be debated among jews without vicious religious name calling which dismisses others without addressing any of their points. its like the internal harassment to enforce gang loyalty. yuc!

Vicious name-calling? It's horrible when someone offends another person.

not horrible, just not useful in discussion. and i am not offended by anyone's words. i appreciate efforts to communicate, even when the intention is to offend. i take from your sarcastic fling that desperate survival is the only way you can seriously engage around palestine/israel?

the website i value for stats on the situation is ifamericansknew. this site is beyond belief. arab palestinians mostly showed up at the same time as zionist immigration? thats what the afrikaners said about blacks during apartheid! and the description of arab culture is incredibly prejudiced and simple minded. it reminds me of the echos of the racial understanding (that was used to justify slavery), still reverberating in us discourse. pure zionist propaganda to justify the current sad and violent situation in palestine/israel. if you want to understand how peace could be possible look beyond your edjewcation. then you might be able to understand how important and timely the bsd movement is, even if you still don't support it...
