Comcast and AT&T are too pricey!
I'm curious if anyone locally uses Vonage or a different VOIP system and how well it works for them.
I'm in West Santa Rosa, if location makes a difference.)
Thanks!

You might look into the OOMA phone system. We've had it for years. After the initial expense which might be $150-60. you pay only $8 a month All calls are recorded on your email, in addition to being saved to your online OOMA account. I can't answer any detailed questions, but we've been very happy with the service. We can call anywhere in the US free. You'd still need an internet provider to connect through.
We got 3 different lines with our system, but I don't know if that's standard. Each of us in the house has our own number.
We also got rid of Comcast for TV, and got a ROKU 3, which costs $100, but saves us $100 each month, with thousands of options for interesting viewing. It's a tiny box with an unbelievably "simple" remote. We don't watch the news, so we really don't miss having up to date reports of tragedies. We can still get those online if we really have to know.
