In September I will have to travel for about a week, and leave my sweet, elderly small dog for the first time since I've had her. I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations for an excellent pet sitter. I want someone who will stay in my house with her, and won't leave her alone for more than about 6 hours during the day.
I'm not concerned about the expense (within reason), just need to find someone who will shower her with the affection to which she is accustomed, and help her take good care of her back (she's a dachshund with chronic back stuff, so this means lifting her correctly and not letting her jump on furniture).
