A few good points were brought to my attention:
1.It would help everyone to know where you found him.2.Was he close to home? 3.Had someone found him wandering and taken him in to protect him? The answers may help others when they lose a pet.
1.Prince was found on Pleasant Hill Rd
2. no, many miles from home
3. yes, they had thought he had been abandoned because he had gotten quite dirty and had managed to get his collar off.but they still called the shelter.Who knew of Prince because of my flyers i left with them and me going in regularly to look for him.
It is a good idea to fill out a lost pet form with the Animal Control-Shelter https://www.theanimalshelter.org/

And to have a Micro Chip is a must:and a collar that you can just pass your finger through.(not to lose)
Recent pictures are important to have so you can add them to your lost pet flyer.
I hope this helps.
