Hi there,

26306Do you know an older tree who is very special to you, maybe near where you live or in another special spot?

If so, would you consider introducing me to this tree?

I'm Cheryl -- a nature photographer & a storyteller for grown-ups (like me + you) who cherish Mother earth. My website is: https://cheryljanisnaturephotography.com

I'm new to the area (I love West county!) & I have a special relationship with trees. I, especially love communicating with the older ones. They are so wise. And with their permission, I make a photograph.

I've met some amazing trees in the past few months & I'd love to meet some more. (You can never hug enough trees, right?)

If you know of a special tree & it feels good to you to share, please let me know. You can send me an email to: [email protected]

Thank you so much!

With Appreciation,
Cheryl

the trees that come to mind for me have all recently died of sudden oak. I suspect they caught it early because they were well loved by many people, and SOD is easily carried on shoes. which is to say, lysoling one's boots is an oak tree's best friend.

Armstrong Woods State Park in Guerneville is not far from Santa Rosa.
Lots of Grandfather and Grandmother trees to be found there.

LandPaths grove of old trees
Fitzpatrick Ln, Occidental
CA 95465

about a 1000 feet before this grove on the left is this freak of a tree. It's huge, old and has trees growing out the side of the trunk 30 feet up

take Coleman valley road out of Occidental, go left on Joy road, Fitzpatrick takes off to the right about a thousand feet, around a mile to the grove, be wary if you go alone.

Wary of what?

I was up there once after work with a truck full of tools and three people came out of the woods, I'm not of the mind that only angels camp in the woods so I left sooner than I would have, just a thought of caution.
