Dear Fellow Village Builders and Sustainability Artisans

We hope you’ll join us for the first ever Sebastopol Village Building Convergence (https://www.sebastopolvbc.org/) (VBC), coming up September 12-21, 2014. Modeled off the successful work of City Repair (https://vbc.cityrepair.org/) in Portland, the VBC is a ten day gathering where we will build a stronger, healthier, and more beautiful Sebastopol through the art of Placemaking (https://sebastopolvbc.weebly.com/placemaking-info.html) (public art, natural building, and permaculture).

We’re inviting community members to submit project proposals for VBC sites throughout Sebastopol and the surrounding area. To learn more, check out this short video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i17LV0dHcZo&feature=youtu.be) starring some of our Sebastopol VBC team members.

To participate, please read our Request for Proposals (https://sebastopolvbc.weebly.com/uploads/1/0/4/0/10405103/sebvbc_rfp.pdf), gather your neighbors, dream up a project design together, and submit the RFP (https://sebastopolvbc.weebly.com/propose-a-placemaking-project.html) by May 15. We’ll help you with the rest!

Anyone have a plan that could use funding? MOTHER Fiscal Sponsor for community projects is a 50lc3. See website (https:// https://MOTHERnon-profit.org)https://MOTHERnon-profit.org MOTHER provides a way for community projects to receive tax-deductible contributions. Our website does need some modifications. And we do need a couple of qualified volunteers: 1) a knowledgeable attorney for our non-profit 2) a knowledgeable accountant-type person to keep transparent track of donations. We'll also need organizers for fundraisers.

I hope someone can locate an intersection or underutilized park the NEEDS some "slow down and pay attention" energy, preferably with the four adjacent corners having people friendly space and land owners who can be flirted into "getting it" about why this could work! then ...HEY I have a LOT of sidewalk chalk, lets get it started! (Lots of other materials that have been wanting a project as well...ART SUPPLIES!!! Nico: ps I even have an already built portable COB Bench ready to go.....(needs an enthusiastic roof crew.....)
