Raleys & First Light Farm (Living Local 50 Program)

Raley’s (https://www.raleys.com/www/promotions/promotions.jsp;jsessionid=CA18142FC80C8C23C8A43B8F659DCB0D?contentid=2375738&viewFullSite=yes) and First Light Farm (https://www.firstlightcsa.com/) team up! Way to git-r-done! As many of you know, First Light Farm (https://www.firstlightcsa.com/) has had an abundance of premium, organic-certified potatoes grown with the dry farming technique. We’ve all been working hard to help these spuds find a hungry home and many of you have placed orders. Thank you!

Breaking News! We are pleased to report that just this week Raley’s (https://www.raleys.com/www/promotions/promotions.jsp;jsessionid=CA18142FC80C8C23C8A43B8F659DCB0D?contentid=2375738&viewFullSite=yes) decided to include First Light Farm (https://www.firstlightcsa.com/) in their Living Local 50 Program (https://www.raleys.com/www/promotions/promotions.jsp;jsessionid=CA18142FC80C8C23C8A43B8F659DCB0D?contentid=2375738&viewFullSite=yes) and make a substantial purchase, hopefully the first of many and a long term partnership. This is an another crowdsourcing “Win-Win” that prevents food waste, supports one of our regions finest family farms and is a new, impactful link in the regional food system! Here’s a thoughtful note from Jesse Pizzitola of First Light Farm.

“This winter First Light Farm found itself with too many potatoes. We have had a very hard time selling as many as we needed to. Since all of you CropMobsters went to bat for us, we have sold several thousand pounds more than we would have and at a good price. Thank you!

And just this week Raley’s has ordered a substantial number of our dry-farmed organic potatoes from that are now being sold in 6 regional stores. I am excited to see what we can do with Raley’s in the future and our farming family is appreciative of this opportunity. Thank you Raley’s and thanks CropMobsters!
