Anyone see the shiny silver thing in the sky, early this morning?

I woke up just before dawn. I was looking out the window, over treetops, (just heard some geese honking and hoped I'd see them), and I saw this very shiny silver thing shoot across the sky from the west, going east, I think. It wasn't a plane--moving way too fast--and there wasn't a tail on it, like a comet. The direction of my view was west on Occidental Road. It was about 5:30. Around there. I don't know what it was but wondered if anyone else saw it and could maybe tell me what it was. Thanks.
