Nico: Good morning! Yes Graton has more of a sense of a caring community that receives newcomers in like family. We are grateful to be starting the facility that we are now calling LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR. Not an easy task for anyone to even know how to love their neighbors, but it is especially easy to see how to love your neighbor in Graton where there are many neighbors who don't even have blankets or beds. I want to publicly thank Nico, as the woman who started LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR, for his participation in this new center. He had brought over to us some great worm compost that we intend to add into the gardens here. We intend to further develop the practice of worm composting here so that we can have a way to compost all of the food scraps that this new facility will generate. Our heart is to, out of our administrative offices, give out food to those who are facing trying life times and to help with other life necessities. We will also have an area where people can donate money for items in order to support the cause. We are gearing up for a grand opening August 19th. Keep your eyes out on WACCO for our announcement! Music, BBQ, Community Potluck, Fundraising Sale. Elaine Neiswender: CELEBRATION, INC: LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR.

HI this is from LOVE YOUR NEIGHBORTM: We are located at the corner of Bowen and Shirley. Best time to talk with us is by phone (887-8129 or at the building which is 829-5466 for CELEBRATION, INC: LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR project or 829-5090 the number for JOYFUL LIVING CALIFORNIATM usually Tuesdays and Thursdays. Other days we are running around working on getting things set up to "go". Suzi I would love to talk with you about it. We have an area where there are already 10 5 X 10 planter beds and are working on developing also a Children Sanctuary of Peace Garden along with a Wildlife Habitat Garden site. BUSY US!
If you go into Graton by way of Graton Road coming down from Highway 116 you come to a first stop sign. Continue straight. Right after in one block distance after that you will see a fire house on the corner of the right/a wine manufacturing long building on the far left--that road there before the manufacturing facility is BOWEN. (DO NOT go beyond the fire house on Graton Road.) Turn left onto Bowen. There is NOT stop sign, but that is Bowen. Turn left and go past the large field on the left and alongside the long wine packing building on the right. The VERY first thing you will see on the left after you pass the partial water tower is a green building on the corner. THAT is the old APPLE APPLE building.
Best time to catch us or one of us there is Tuesdays and Thursdays 9-4. We come and go, but mostly are there on those days. We are in and out and so are many of our volunteers. Our donations hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays 10-2--WE ARE accepting freshly washed clothing, clean household items, books, and food. Thanks for asking. I look forward to meeting you and others that are interested. The response has been tremendous! Elaine

P.S. ALL DONATIONS OF MONEY AND OTHER USEFUL ITEMS ARE TAX-DEDUCTIBLE! I was telling someone the other day that I used to adopt children in other countries through Children International, but that I always felt that I wanted to do something where I could, if I wanted to, make a much greater difference. I wanted to see whose lives I was affecting in a positive way. There is a way to do that in the United States where many are lonely and many whose lives fall through the cracks in terms of making ends meet. TOGETHER we can make a difference right in our own area! Become a partner to this program. Help out in any way you can through monthly contributions, one time grants, or donations of things that will supply basic human needs: clothing, food, household items. IF you have clean useable things that you would consider donating rather than sell at a garage sale, this is the place to donate to! Celebrate with us the ways we can help!
LOVE YOUR NEIGHBORTM is a 501 (c) 3 public charity (CELEBRATION, INC.) associated with the social welfare organization: JOYFUL LIVING CALIFORNIATM (Formerly known as The Forestville Joyful Living Center)
