The United States has already begun its slow decline as the world empire under the Bush ll Administration. Maybe we should thank him. This natural, historical process is just how most previous empires have declined (the UK held this status before the US started doing so in the 20th Century). The European Union already has a more culturally diverse, more populous, and richer economy than the US. America will have to share power, wealth and political influence with more countries than the traditional 5 victors of WWII, plus Japan, Germany, Italy, and Canada. Brazil and India are already economic super powers. Russia, Australia, Spain, Mexico, Indonesia, and Turkey are steadily growing, rising, and still far away from reaching their full potential:

But hey! It's not all bad news. There are some really great benefits to be had in a world with many major powers, which we couldn't have under the "new world order" under Bush l. This means that power and authority will be shared and less likely to be abused by the neighborhood bully. More wealth, prosperity, freedom, and happiness for the whole world...

Big growth in the developing world is not a threat. It's time to talk about the advantages of a multipolar world (https://www.salon.com/2014/01/12/what_thomas_friedman_and_niall_ferguson_dont_understand_about_the_rest_of_the_world/)
