[ This is a compilation of the various requests and referrals for dentists over the years. It's in chronological order so the first page or 2 of posts are rather old, though they could still be relevant. Newer posts are near the end of the thread. Barry]

https://www.waccobb.com/forums/images/NewSmilies/dunno.gifI need to find a new dentist in the West Sonoma County Area. We live near Sebastopol. Please tell me why you feel your dentist is good https://www.waccobb.com/forums/images/NewSmilies/thumbsup.gif. I need a Blue Cross dentist...but don't worry about that, just give me some names and I will check my Blue Cross list. [I know there is only one member in Sebastopol and that is E.S. Jang.]

OK folks, here's the perenial search for a good dentist again. Last time this was requested there weren't any public refferals made.:spanking:
We can do better than that!:hifive:

This is especially important at this time since Jens Busk is turning over his practice to Dr. Sen(?) and is leaving the area. Has anyone been to this new dentist yet? The office will continue to be mercury free.

How about other dentists? Got someone you particularly like? Why?

I cannot yet recommend Dr. Norman Chau as I am in process of having my teeth pulled and a lower plate in their place. But I can say I know he accepts medicare and medical. He is located at 2921 Cleveland Avenue. in Santa Rosa. I have encountered 2 or 3 people who have said he is pretty good.

I will know more when I get this procedure over with next week. hs

Dr. Steven O'Neil in Occidental is really amazing. Accepts insurance. The very best dental care and concern you could imagine.

It is Dr. Mcneal in Occidental not o'neal. And he is excellent. My stepson has had realy good sevice with Dr. Thielen in Sebastopol.

This may be a bit far for you folks out in west county, but the best dentist in Santa Rosa (in my humble opinion) is Dr. John Minye. He is kind and gentle and does not use Mercury fillings and takes different kinds of insurance and will take payments. He is out on Hwy 12 at 4372 Sonoma Highway. 539-8762 I have been going to him for years. He took over the practice when Dr. Liles passed away.
Good luck, and don't forget to floss : )

Dr. Eric Salmon, 14001 Old Cazadero Road, Guernewood Park, 869-2623. Our family dentist for several years, performed cleanings, fillings, pulling, etc., the best, most painless, kindest dentist ever for both my husband and me. We met him when he was affiliated with Russian River Health, but now he has his own practice. Worth a long drive to get to him!

Hi Caretaker: Since January this year I have been going to a very good dentist located on Cleveland Ave. in Santa Rosa. I think it is the building next to State Farm Ave, off Cleveland. His name is Dr. Norman Chau, and I think he does just about everything. He also accepts medicade, or is it medical.

I had my lower teeth pulled and he made two plates for me. A new upper plate and the first new lower plate. Dr. Chau has a great team of nurses, and from what I can see a very busy practice, which always says to me that doctor is a good one. I have been treated very well and like the doctor and staff very much.

Dr. Chau's address is 2921 Cleveland Ave., his phone number is 707-544-4818. I have heard that if you have to pay yourself he is rather expensive.

You might find other references if you go onto this site and in upper right hand corner you will find a SEARCH area. Type in dentists and see what you get.

I recently went to a dentist in Los Angeles who is very high tech. The novacaine shot was painless, and there was no pain when it was wearing off, because it was administered thru a computer that regulated the flow of novacaine into the gums. He also has a "drill" that doesn't drill -- it shoots out sand that blasts away the softer cavity and leaves the tooth intact. The x-ray machine was very low dose, and we went immediately to the computer where I looked at my teeth. Unfortunately, I found out I need 5 crowns! Does anyone have a high-tech dentist up here, or someone they'd recommend for other reasons? Or a good dentist in Mexico??? Thanks! Indigo

...Does anyone have a high-tech dentist up here, or someone they'd recommend for other reasons? Or a good dentist in Mexico??? Thanks! IndigoAh, the perennial dentist quest! This is more timely since Jens Busk, the former Wacco dentist, has left town !

I have met the man who took over his practice, Silvano Senn (120 Pleasant Hill, Sebastopol, 823-9500). He is quite nice, and very committed to non toxic dentistry. I believe his wife also works in the office. I can't recommend him at this point, since he hasn't climbed into my mouth yet! Perhaps someone who has been treated by him can chime in here.

I have just merged the prior requests & responses for dentists into this thread, so if you go to this post on the website, you'll see all of them.

Please share :yltype: your dental experiences, positive or negative, with your fellow Waccos!

I was hesitant about going to see Dr. Jens Busk's replacement because I didn't believe Dr. Busk was replaceable as he was the most wonderful dentist I've seen to date. To my surprise Dr. Silvano Sens and I became good friends at first meeting! AND he is a highly conscious dentist with same values as Dr. Busk and is using the same high tech equipment he used. Silvano is a totally awesome, high spirited and kind man and hats off to Jens for finding a wonderful dentist to take over his highly sensitive and highly aware clientelle. I highly recommend Silvano (and his wife Toni Mann, DDS) to all you Wacco's!

Melissa, The best dentist I have ever been to in Northern Calif (and I've been to A LOT) is Mary Ellen Chalmers in Santa Rosa. She is a very down to earth person and really cares about each of her patients. She is not a biological dentist per sey, yet she is not a narrow minded conservative. She is open and always learning new things, she uses some alternative methods and keeps up on the latest research. She is not greedy and I really trust her. She goes out of her way to help out with whatever you are dealing with, no matter how unusual. She is also accessible when you have concerns. AND she is an excellent technician. I have a great deal of respect for her.

Recently when my husband had some intense work done she injected traumeel into the gum!

Best of luck.

Please consider Drs. Petersen on Guerneville Road in SR. They were my dentist, husband and wife, Jeff was the one I saw most often. What a great dentist and I am very, very picky. Now that I don't have dental insurance, I really miss him. Good luck.

Dr. Hurley and his great staff in Santa Rosa-my whole family(grandmother, now deceased, parents, husband and my kids) has gone to him for many many years. They treat you like a real person and you rarely have to wait. Dr. Hurley has called me at home just to make sure all was well after some serious dental work.

I would like to put in a good word for Karol Scheiner, who replaced Dr. McNeil in Forestville earlier this year. I've had a crown put in by her and she did an excellent job. The office staff is friendly as well.
Karol's husband is an endodontist and does root canals in her office on Friday's, which is convenient for West County Residents. He did one for me a week ago without any ill effects.

Dr. J Patrick Hurley on Montgomery Dr. in Santa Rosa. He's been our dentist for years. He and his wife work together and are the kindest people. Friendly office staff, convenient Saturday appts available, they accept many dental plans, plenty of parking, etc.

Thank you!!

OK, the Dentist question again - I've actually done some reseach mainly for dentists who are excellent, holistic, and safe with mercury removal. I've been meaning to post, and here's another chance.

Dr. Granath in Santa Rosa is the best in the area. Both he and his office staff are very pleasant and knowledgeable. He takes every precaution with removing mercury safely. The contact there is 707-528-9411.

Dr. Lipelt is local to Sebastopol. He acts as a consultant for proper mercury removal - assessing gums, prior root canal integrity, structure, fillings, bite, constitution. He knows a lot about mercury chelation and improving your kidney and liver systems prior to mercury removal. 707-829-2737

Dr. Hyte is in Berkeley. The feedback I've received from referrals to him is that his manor may be a bit gruff, but he does excellent and safe mercury removal. He is the cheapest in the area. 510-845-6494

Dr. Sylvano Senn in Sebastopol as an "anthrosophic and homeopathic" dentist (DDS) who does mercury amalgam filling removals. He took over the practice of an Icelandic dentist who returned to his homeland. His phone number is 707/823-9500.

Dr. Senn seems to be a good dentist with two satisfied customers in this house, so far. He also is senstive to fear/apprehension about having dental work. Unfortunately, he does not do sedation dentistry or advanced types of anesthesia.

Hi Out There,

I haven't been to a dentist in 15 years but I think I have a cavity and I guess I should finally go.

Does anyone have a good recommendation out there. I live in Sebastopol and would love to find someone who is really competant and reasonably priced. I don't have dental insurance and it doesn't seem worth it to get the insurance now. I am also curious what peoples opinions are about getting dental insurance.

Thanks so much for your time and advice.

Warmest Wishes,

Thank you everyone for your replies and recommendations. I really appreciate it. It think wacco is such a great community. I tried to call Dr. Silvano's office, left a message, but nobody called back:hmmm: . Maybe he is so busy he can't take new patients.

Another thread here on Wacco recommended Dr. McNeal in Occidental. They sounded nice on the phone, somewhat holistic and reasonably priced so I think I am going to try him. I will post how it goes.

I recently went to Dr. Silvano Senn for the first time. He did a great job, however after I'd paid in full (he gave a small discount for paying in full with cash) I got another bill for $250 that was unexpected. I have to follow up and find out why. He's a great dentist, however if you want laughing gas, he does not use it in his practice. That was a detail I should have asked first. It could be he's on vacation right now. He advertises, so I am sure he is taking new patients. He took me, and that was just recently. Good luck!

Hi

We live in SR and find that the drive to H-burg to see Dr. Mark Alexander to be more than well worth the trip. He's the most gentle, kind and knowledgable dentist I've ever seen and at 54, I've seen a lot. Addtionally, one of my kids who was taught to be terrified of dentists by a local community med/dental place and had to get knocked out to have work done on his teeth has found peace enough at Dr. Alexander's that my kid doesn't even need to take a valium when going there. This man is the real thing. You can reach him at 433-2425. He's marvelous and I don't say that lightly.

most sincerely

As a former dental hygienst who has been into alternatives for years, I highly recommend Marie Mallory www.drmallory.com (https://www.drmallory.com/) . She is very holistic, spiritual and conscious. 542-7800; 76 Doctors Park Dr./ 1820 Sonoma Ave., Santa Rosa; Mon-Thurs 8 to1 and 2 to 5

There is also a dentist, Tom McGuire, who only does mercury detoxification testing and counseling in Sebastopol. (no general dentistry) He has a wonderful website and has written books on the topic. You can check Tom out at

Not sure what is considered "cheap"... but I have chosen to go to Vineyard Dental Group for my root canal.

they quoted me anywhere from 1225.00 - 1980.00 for root canal with crown.

If you are just going in for the crown, it may be less!

Good luck to you!!

So I did a search and could find all sorts of posts on holistic, kind, local or foreign dentist, but nothing about cheap dentist.

I have to have a crown done, and my dentist quoted me $1500.00. Anyone know of "cheaper" dentists locally? And if not, how to make a trip to Mexico for dentistry payoff.

I just moved to Santa Rosa and I have been to James J Forni, 4655 Hoen Ave # 5, Santa Rosa. He is not cheap, but the best I've been to. A real pro, very talented. He will listen to you and let you know all that he is about to do and is doing. Very reassuring, very good "bedside" manner. Actually makes you feel good and want to take care of your teeth, no matter what state they are in. Hope this helps.

I just wanted to add my vote for John Minye in Santa Rosa --he actually recently moved to a shopping center at the end of Farmer's Lane near Flamingo Hotel.

He and his staff are wonderful and his hygienist Gail will give you the cleaning of your life!

He and his practice are also very environmentally/socially conscious. Staff are all/most Spanish/English bilingual. For people who are dentist-aphobic he is very sensitive, calm, and will let you know every step before proceeding. I've seen him for almost 10 years and have never had any problems with my dental work.

There's a Thai place in the shopping center that's great, too!

After having the same dentist for my family and self for 25 yrs, I was unabel to keep up the high costs, even with insurance. I found that the insurance would not cover much of a percentage of anything and cosmetic work was not covered at all.
I was forced to leave the country and seek out help elsewhere. It was affordabel and doable and urgent. So I went to Costa Rica.

I was referred by my long time dentist Dr. Robert Didier, Santa Rosa to Dr. Jarvis in Winsor for extractions, implants or a partial. I was unable to afford any of their prices and he would only accept CASH. NO CREDIT.

I was forced to leave the country to find help elsewhere. I was quoted $4000. for EACH implant by Dr. Jarvis in Winsor. I needed four implants and a crown for $1500. I have good credit, Visa, Am. Ex. None were acceptable. I was shocked!!! Like I said, he wanted CASH ONLY.

I used my Visa in Costa Rica. It cost me $4000. for FOUR implants and a crown. AND THEY TOOK MY VISA!!!

The work I had done was excellent quality. I went back to see my long time dentist Dr. Didier in Santa Rosa to show him the work I had done and to get his approval. He thought it was perfect.

I am leaving in Dec. again to get more work done. I had two OLD crowns break off and they need to be repaired. I went to see Dr. Didier and he wanted $1500 for the one tooth.
So I am going to Costa Rica again just for dental work. I of course will try to vacation some too. The plane ticket is cheap and well, this was my solution and I am glad I did it.

:spentmoney:Recently (about a month or two ago) I posted asking for a referral for a local (I'm in Sebastopol) dentist. I got a few replies, and more than a few recommended Dr Senn, right here in Sebastopol. I made an appointment because I'd broken a tooth & had dallied long enough---I knew I had to have it fixed. Of course they took updated radiographs & examined my entire mouth. Mind you, I've had a LOT of work done on my teeth over the past 20 years or so, and I hadn't been to the dentist for awhile (approx. 2.5 years), so I expected some other problems to be present. However, when I was presented with the 'estimate' ( or "service plan" as their office calls it), which was broken down into two "phases", I almost fainted. the total was almost $10,000. Okay, he's a very nice man & I'm sure he's a competent dentist, but doe that seem awfully expensive to anyone else? I "need" some specialized crowns & a bridge, but still.....

Did the people who recommended Dr Senn have any major dental work done lately? I've lived in a variety of places around the country, and paying over $3300 for a bridge seems a 'tad' high to me, based on what I've paid in the past & allowing for fees to have gone up since my last dental visit/work. Do you people realize that there are MANY places where one doesn't have to sell one's home to have dental work done? I'm not too thrilled with this recommendation, since I know I'm being WAY overcharged. People who've lived around here for any significant length of time don't seem to realize that there's another whole world out "there", where dentists cgarge something like $500 to $600 for a bridge, not $1,100. You've gotten complacent & don't argue with the fees you're told to pay because you think "that's just how much it costs". But it doesn't ! Very nice man, nice staff, but he can afford to get hair plugs (at least it looks like that's what they are to me)--too much disposable income! The itemized estimate listed "full mouth debridement" (cleaning) at $88, and then it lists "prophylaxis" )polishing/flouride treatment) for another $88. Hear me now & hear me well: Everyone around here (Sonoma county) is paying WAY too much for dental care, if Sr Senn is a typical example. You're probably paying too much for a LOT of things since you haven't done any research/comparisons about what those fees cover elsewhere. I'm certainly going to ask about each & every fee listed on my estimate when I call their office and tell them I can't afford to have my teeth fixed by them. They KNOW they're charging outrageous feees because they hand out brochures, as you leave, informing you about companies that offer payment plans in order to stretch your $10,000 over various numbers of months---it;s like buying a car! And it's NOT right!
Thank you for your referrals, sincerely, but I think I'll have my dental work done elsewhere. Even the cost of flying to Iowa to have this work done would probably cost less!

Hi - $10,000 sounds high so maybe shop the estimate around to other dentists.

I use Dr. Scott Benstock in Sebastopol. I have used him for a number of years without any complaints. He has done crowns and partial crowns for me, as well as a lot of the normal stuff. He is very approachable and cares a lot about each patient and the specific treatment being done that day.
His staff is excellent too.

I have used for root canals Dr. Waterman in Santa Rosa - absolutely fantastic guy who only does root canals.

I hope you find someone more within your budget. Good luck

That actually sounds about right for my dentist who I know charges in the higher ranges but is very very good.

Ditto on Waterman. I've only had one root canal in my life and he did the work. Very competent guy.

My dentist is Will Brogden in Healdsburg but I doubt he'd be much cheaper.

If your dentist can save your teeth and/or your jawbone it's worth a lot of money. How much depends on whether you can find better prices elsewhere for similar quality work.

Good luck,

i went to have a teeth cleaning at Santa Rosa Dental, on College near 101 about 1 1/2 years ago.

i paid the $93, then they rolled out the heavy artillery.

they told me i had gum recession, that i needed "deep scaling", and that the deep scaling appointments would cost $300 each - and that i needed 4 of them - and that if i didn't have them, there was a good chance i would lose the teeth.

PASS on Dr. Elliott & his staff's scare tactics.

i had the teeth cleaning at the UoP dental school in SF & it cost about $100.

to clarify - i think the UoP dental school is a good place for cleaning & diagnosis.

i have had very mixed results there in terms of treatment. I had one student who was brilliant at doing a full-veneer crown.

I had another student who I went to for a routine cavity filling on a tooth on the upper left. 2 days later, when the novacaine & routine soreness had worn off, I realized when I flossed, that I had a new open lesion (cavity) on the same tooth that was supposed to be worked on.

If the student makes a mistake, the instructor is supposed to catch it. Somehow I ended that appointment with an open cavity that did not exist at the beginning of the appointment.

I have a couple of comments about dentistry and prices:

First, like Braggi said, good dental (or any health care) is important and worth a lot.

That said, it's also nice to not pay any more than necessary. When major work is needed, it can sometimes make financial sense (if not environmental or local sustainability sense) to travel to other countries (ie Mexico) to have the work done, however who knows what quality of work you will get. There is a thread on WaccoBB.net about non-U.S. dentists (https://www.waccobb.net/forums/showthread.php?t=12321).

I have a particular problem with dentist/doctors with just offering/giving you services without telling you in advance what the cost will be. ("It's time for another set of X-rays" or have the dentist give you a quick check up after a cleaning). It seems like it should be treated just like any other service provider where any costs are known up front.

I recently had a cleaning and extensive in-take examination with Dr. Oloph Granath (https://www.stunningsmiles.com/). I was VERY impressed with him and his office. The term "Holistic Dentistry" has been around for a long time, but Dr. Granath takes it to a new level. Of course it's a mercury free office, but it goes a lot further than that. I learnt things about my mouth and oral care that I never knew. And he's not cheap, but again it's important stuff and it may well save you money (or your teeth!) in the long run.

There have been many glowing testamonials for Dr. Granath on this thread already and I need to add my vote for him too! Be sure to let them know that you heard about him from WaccoBB.net!

As I mentioned in my private replt to you, I wasn't planning to actually travel to Iowa or out of this country to have the dental work done, I was using that as an example of how overpriced professional services (as well as just about EVERYthing) are in this region/town. It's shameful for some of these people to make people believe that they actually need to charge that much money to eek out a meager living---these people are RICH, and don't need to charge the outrageous fees they do. I have taken care of my oral health for the past 30 years, but I never had to arrange for financing in order to have necesssary dental care done. $10,000....give me a break.

(And, yes, some veterinarians are guilty of this same fee-hiking to meet the peak that the community will tolerate)

I am on medicare and I am currently having a lot of very expensive work done on my mouth. How do I afford it?
I looked for years for a decent dentist that would take Denti-cal. Good luck. Someone recommended using a dental school. There are 2 in San Francisco and another one in Davis. I chose University of the Pacific in SF. Every visit takes a minimum of 2 hours by the time the instructor authorizes the work the student thinks is appropriate; the student performs the work and the instructor re-checks it. Add in the 5 hours on busses that it takes to get there and back and you have literally spent all day for one dental appointment. That is the down side.
The up side is that I have had consultations with the best in periodontics, restorations and orthdontics. There is no way denti-cal would pay for this but because it is a school and they are looking to produce outstanding dentists, I win. The instructors are outstanding dentists from a variety of specialties who have left private practice to teach. The work my student does is first rate and in many cases, it is for a final grade.
I have been treated with compassion and respect. The school works with what ever insurance you have, and helps you set up a payment plan if the procedures are not covered. Most people I have talked to end up paying less than 1/2 what they would with a private dentist.
I have time. I don't have money. It works for me.

I've had alot of dental work done over the years and am really happy with my current dentist, Silvano Senn. He's warm and personable, and really gentle. He goes out of his way to make his dentistry painless. His dental assistant, a man whose name I can never remember, is wonderful as well. I always feel so taken care of when I come out of there.

Mary Ellen Chalmers in Santa Rosa is amazing. I have been to Oloph, and many others in this area. Mary Ellen is the most real person, grounded, dentist I have ever met. She is a great technician, combines biological dentistry with evidence based research. She is certainly not any more expensive than Oloph, but I find her to be much more open. She really understands the effects of dentistry on the body and works with patients on many levels.

I'm leaving for Chiang Mai Thailand in a few weeks. Alas, I need four crowns and some other work and even seeing my bargain basement dentist here in Santa Rosa, the estimate is about $4000. I'm sure Dr. Senn or Dr. Granaff would charge much much more.

I'm going to the Grace Dental Clinic and expect to pay around $1500. My airfare and such comes in under $1000. And I get to have a very lovely time in Thailand, where a gorgeous hotel costs $15 day and wonderful Thai meals can be as low as 75 cents. Maybe I can bring back some Hill Tribe stuff to sell and support them and help pay off my airfare.

I also expect to get better care than I would here. Probably better even than Dr. Senn (gasp!).
The thing is, Grace Dental Clinic is the most expensive in Chiang Mai. It has European trained dentists and absolutely up to the minute technology. If I were more daring, or needed less intense work, I could find good work for even less money.

I was originally planning to go to Mexico, but my wife said NO! Too dangerous these days. Costa Rica is another good option, but I happen to love Thailand very much.

So yes, there are other options out there. I'll be writing about my 'medical tourism' on my blog Wild Blue Yonder (https://www.robbibaba.blogspot.com/) if you'd like to follow along.

The sad part about this is that the European trained dentists in Thailand probably had their dental training paid for by the Thai government, including a stipend for living expenses, so they are not burdened with $100K to $200K of student loans and credit card debt when they finish dental school.

That's one reason why these overseas doctors and dentists are so much less expensive: their governments understand that if you want to have trained, competent people to care for the population, they must make the investment in training them. Most of the folks here in the U.S. are just now starting to piece that one together.

I agree. It's sad for us, but maybe that can change. It seems like we could borrow a page from Cuba and set up training hospitals and make doctor/nurse training essentially free, to flood the 'market' with qualified people--who are required to provide inexpensive services for a time in exchange for their training. Just makes sense.
Unless you own an insurance company. Or belong to the AMA.

I think you're thinking along the right direction, but one still has to keep in mind that the people who would be taught/trained to be health professionals still would need to have the necessary intelligence to understand the difficult courses they be taking to become capable of treating patients correctly, and, they'd have to have the interest to do that sort of work---who'd want to be treated by someone who'd rather be an economist, an attorney, a baker, or whatever holds their passion? So, yes, let's help train the people who are interested in doing this kind of work for a living, as well as ones who understand what they're doing so mistakes won't be made.

Of course... people are supported in pursuing these careers, not forced into it. They're not going to waste money on someone who is not qualified and/or is a slacker.

In many countries, especially what is now the E.U., children are tested for vocational aptitude and also to determine which will be on a university track and which will apprentice for a trade. These evaluations are a big deal and they know it.

I am very picky about dentists. When I lived in Nevada City, for eleven years, I used to drive 150 miles (each way) to Mill Valley to see my former dentist. When he retired, some years ago, I was fortunate to find Dr Yee. He is a sincerely caring person with a big heart. His office is in an unassuming building, but it holds state of the art technology and wonderful staff. Check out his website: WineCountrySmiles.com

I give my highest recommendation to Patricia Webb, DDS, in Sebastopol. The work she and her staff does is the best I've experienced. She is warm and reassuring, but candid and matter-of-fact. Due to financial changes in recent times I've turned to The UCSF Dental School in SF, and I want to recommend that option also for anyone who might read this whose situation necesitates really economical dental care. Be aware, though, that it is slow.
Good luck.

For a dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Silvano Senn, 707-823-9500. Compassionate, gentle, holistic, in Sebastopol, I find his rates to be lower than my experience in the East Bay.

For an herbalist/holistic practitioner I highly recommend Susan Gray in Sebastopol. She has been treating me with chinese herbs & acupuncture and the results have been terrific. She's very intuitive and very holistically minded, knowledgeable about nutrition as well. I can't recommend her enough. 707-478-8406 Sure, she costs more than the low-cost acupuncture clinics and schools, but her experience, knowledge, and intuitive skill stands head and shoulders above others I have experienced.

Remember that dentist in Little Shop of Horrors? The one who delighted in inflicting dental pain? Once, when I was a child, I had that dentist (my mother never took me back, thank goodness), and I had severe dental fear for decades after. Still do, to a little bit. Seriously, who wants someone rooting around in your mouth with sharp needles and metal instruments?

However, I have had the good luck of finding good dentists wherever I have lived. It sounds like there are a lot of them here in Sonoma County! The one I have been seeing is Dr. Paul Yeager over on Yulupa in Santa Rosa. (Not too far from Whole Foods.) He's gentle, has a great hygienist, does not use mercury, is up on the latest technologies, and does great work. Paul R. Yeager, DDS - Santa Rosa Dentist - Cosmetic, Restorative, and Sedation Dentistry (https://www.dentalcaresantarosa.com/)

I don't know how his prices compare to other dentists in the area, but you can certainly call and ask. It is too bad that dentists charge so very much in this area.

I highly recommend Dr. Harry Albers in Santa Rosa for too many reasons to list here. Even my formerly dentist-averse wife, after a visit or two, enthusiastically signed up to do all the work needed. The results have been impressive! Please google on Dr. Harry Albers dentist to see his C.V. for yourself. He's a good guy on so many levels.

https://www.waccobb.com/forums/images/NewSmilies/dunno.gifI need to find a new dentist in the West Sonoma County Area. Jang.]

I've been going to Dr. Patricia Webb for years. Great dentist and great office in Sebastopol. 823-6010.

Good luck!

I have found Silvano Senn-- and his dental hygenest-- to be quite copasetic. Dr Senn has placed an emphasis on preventive care and he himself is simply a gentle, caring human being. If anyone could invent a Tao of Dentistry (with the blessing of the ADA), I believe it would be Dr Senn. His office itself is located near the French Garden in Sebastopol and there's a really nice inner courtyard area from parking to office. Address: 120 Pleasant Hill, Sebastopol, CA 95472.

My recommendation would be for Armen Kupelian D.D.S..I have special concerns for my dental work due to complications from treatment of throat and tongue cancer. Dr. Kupelian is friendly, bright and through, I, have no reservations in recommending him.
Thank you, Paul

I love my dentist, Dr. Gina Fontana, on Sotoyome near Memorial Hospital. I was always afraid of dentists (they do drop things down your throat!) and didn't want to pass that fear on to my kids. she has been wonderful all of these years.

Hi,
I'm relatively new to the area and desperately need GOOD dentist recommendation. How's about: nice person; reasonable rates; concerned with doing excellent job; assuage my terror.
Thanks so much,
Bev

I just moved to Santa Rosa and I have been to James J Forni, 4655 Hoen Ave # 5, Santa Rosa. He is not cheap, but the best I've been to. A real pro, very talented. He will listen to you and let you know all that he is about to do and is doing. Very reassuring, very good "bedside" manner. Actually makes you feel good and want to take care of your teeth, no matter what state they are in. Hope this helps.

I DITTO... Dr. James Forni is the best dentist I've ever had... the best quality and the best customer service. I've had a lot of dentists and I can always know my teeth are getting the best care with him. And when something doesn't come out as he thinks it should (or I think it should) he is on top of it and makes sure it is right. I've never had better quality than with him (and I've had plenty of dentists). He's worth the extra few dollars as it saves in the long run as the quality is so much more with him). He's the best!

I have a GREAT dentist in Sebastopol: Silvano Senn -- As a former dental assistant I can tell you he's on the cutting edge of dental procedure. He's also hugely knowledgable about alternative medicine, and I believe he is a licensed naturopath. He does beautiful work for which he has a genuine passion, he's compassionate and gentle as well, and immensely fun to listen to. Going to his office is an upper. His staff are competent, kind and helpful, the prices are medium and the music is very good, if that matters to you. For me, it has been a wonderful experience, coming in contact with Dr. Senn. I'd travel from another state to continue being his patient! (707) 823-9500 --

I don't know about Dr. Silvano but I do vouch for Dr. Forni. He's the best. My teeth have never had better care and been so healthy as with him. I'm sure Dr. Silvano is excellent in what he does and I know that I wouldn't change my dentist when I have such great results with Dr. Forni.

Hi, Welcome to Sebastopol. If you are looking for a progressive forward thinking DDS, I would recommend Dr. Webb.
*She is a mercury safe dentist ie: with special equipment that removes mercury from the environment (the room and keeps you from exposure too)
*She uses ozonated O3 water that is a powerful anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral water both in her dentistry and the hygienists use it too.
*She uses digital very low dose w-rays.
*She does excellent, meticulous dentistry.
All this while being a very kind person that really cares about her patients.
Not sure about insurance, but I would just call....I hope this helps! Good Luck, Monk

Hi, I just need to get my teeth cleaned and checked. Any recommendations? I used to go to the Guerneville Dental Clinic but they're book up for months.

Thanks, Lilith

First off, Dr. Paul Thielen, next to Grateful Bagel in Sebastopol is the by far best dentist I have ever been to. Trust me I have dental issues, and for over 10 years he has never failed me. I also have learned so much from him about taking care of my teeth. I also can recommend Dr. Bozeman in Santa Rosa for ANY root canal work. I just had my first one done and was amazed at how little pain I had. The entire experience left me feeling less stressed, and I am not afraid of a root canal anymore. They are BOTH are fantastic. Since we are on the topic of teeth, Yes I have a great recommendation for an orthodontist. Dr. Cercone. Having experienced both of our local orthodontist, Dr. Cercone saved me the pulling of one of my teeth, and didn't charge me for every evaluation necessary to do the work. All three are a great resource, you won't be dissapointed. ali rose
