poultry are omnivores to one degree or another
Chickens will kill & consume a flock mate as well as eat their own eggs.

My fear is something like mad cow disease. But cows are also herbivores (vegetarians) and that could be an additional reason why that bovine disease came into existence. Chickens eating chickens is still a disturbing thought because it is cannibalism.
Another consideration is that we would only be throwing the bones into the compost pile, which our chickens have access to. And if that is the only concern then I'm thinking that it is not a problem at all.

I have a few chickens and go out of my way to make sure they don't eat their own eggs or chicken meat. Ick. The fact is, chickens eat most anything on the ground. No need to encourage them to eat their own.

Hhmm.. Cannibalism? an interesting thought.... could solve world hunger. But I could never eat a Vegan. Too tough and stringy, And such a poor sense of humor about it all.
Garlic, rosemary, 325 deg Oven, 20 mn per pound.salt & pepper to taste
Customer at the Cannibal Restaurant is reading the menu

Customer asks the waiter "why so much for the Politician ?"
Waiter replies "Have you ever tried to clean one?"
