and I should add ... I'm sure that many of those who work for the NSA are honest, law abiding people who just want to serve and protect our country ... but I'm also sure that there is widespread corruption in the NSA, especially since they have now involved thousands of independent contractors with no oversight at all ... so what happens to our personal data when these corrupt individuals within the organization get a hold of it? ... wasn't that the whole reason behind encryption? ... to make sure that banking records, etc. were not accessible so that we would have protection from criminal elements? .... also, couldn't the NSA just request any of that information from a bank or hospital once there is a legitimate case against someone? ... do they have to resort to picking the lock on all internet security?
