    Outdoor Cats/barn cats

SAVE A LIFE!!!!!!! We are working to save cats' lives from shelters where they face euthanasia. Many shy under-socialized cats face death every year at the county Animal Control facilities. We work to rescue them and find them safe homes where they can be outdoor garden cats. The cats are fixed, vaccinated, leukemia tested and microchipped. We are dedicated to saving these innocent lives from death and work to find safe, responsible homes where they can be welcomed as outdoor cats.

Outdoor cats are wonderful to have around your property and they are a pleasure to watch. We are searching for homes that are away from busy roads. In return for saving their lives they will keep your garden beautiful by providing you with a natural, non-toxic, solution for rodent control.

There is an initial acclimation period where you will want to keep the cats exclusively inside. A garage, laundry room, low traffic room, sun room (or something similar) works great for an acclimation space, we recommend doing this for 3-4 weeks to give them time to realize this is their new home and get use to all the sounds, smells and nuances. After that acclimation period they are released to be outdoor cats. In this time they will need a litter box, it is a natural instinct to use a litter box and while at the shelter they have been using a litter box. Upon their release some people provide them with a cat door to have access to shelter while others have them be exclusively outdoors where the cats have shelter from the elements under decks, on porches, etc. We walk you through the entire process and contact Animal Control where we have the cats vetted at the clinic and have them ready for you to pick them up. We work with Napa County Animal Control in the city of Napa and Sonoma County Animal Control in the city of Santa Rosa.

If you would like to save a life please call We Care Animal Rescue 707-963-7044. Please only contact us if you are sincerely interested, we are a small non-profit rescue group. We are here to help answer any of your questions and walk you through the adoption process every step of the way.

I had a feral cat who cleared my property of rats and gophers, she was great! Barrie
