I heard an unusual bird call last night -- there was some moonlight, African Greys kind of do not seem like a night flying bird -- but I could tell the bird was flying. There are a lot of tall trees in the vicinity: redwoods and eucalyptus, the bird seemed to be heading north, then east, maybe in the trees west of Vine Hill Road (near Vine Hill School Road).

Your post jogged my memory of hearing this unusual bird call last night -- didn't sound like a hawk or owl...
