SmartMeter: The new tool to diagnose faulty ground rods, one house fire at a time?

SmartMeter: The new tool to diagnose faulty ground rods, one house fire at a time"?

New evidence is linking Smart Meters to house fires, damaged televisions and computers, fried electronic equipment, light bulbs blowing out, and other indicators that the electrical wiring has become overloaded and may start a fire.

Tens of thousands of homes around the country may have faulty ground rods. Some areas of the southeast they don't have any ground rods at all. Houses are not grounded. What happens? If you overload the home wiring with RF, particularly in bursts of high intensity, you can start a fire.
Whether the building codes require a functioning ground rod (or substitute) is beyond the point. Old homes, old wiring, faulty grounding - will occur in some percentage of buildings where Smart Meters are installed.
Where Smart Meters have been identified as the cause of appliance damage and fires, the utility has blamed the homeowner for lack of adequate home grounding.
We should call for an independent investigation by every State Fire Marshall - to advise the state PUCs and PSCs about potential risks. This should be reason enough for the CPUC to halt deployment of Smart Meters.
An electric utility cannot intentionally put homes and families at risk.

Media report on a Smart Meter fire in Bakersfield. Smart Meter Blows Up At Business
    Online reader comment:

As a newspaper editor in little ole Cleburne County, Alabama we come out tomorrow with a story on a house which may have burned down because of a smart meter, another incident of a meter apparently getting so hot it almost burned along with circuit panel inside the home and people being told either by installer or power co that if they did not replace all the wiring in their home that the meter would indeed cause a fire!!!! I am told by a commercial builder that some meters may be faulty and allow 300-440 volts in on a home’s 220 and 110 lines. We’re seeing problems out here of burn outs in appliances, meltdowns of hair dryers, kitchen appliance , and a number of high-end electronics getting zapped. Goodbye Bose radio, goodbye wide, wide screen tv and see if the utility cos are going to pay for those items – don’t think so!

I may have just heard on the radio that Smart Meters are causing the sky to fall in some areas.

It seems pretty obvious that this smart meters issue is just a red herring to divert us from the real issue of the birth and nationality of Peter A. Darbee: Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President of PG&E Corporation. *NNDB, a site which tracks notable people, details that his Race is white and his Gender male, but offers only a question mark ? after Born, with no attempt to establish a nationality.
    (Peter A. Darbee)
Certainly this trumps the other current birth/nationality issue of men in high places---though we must continue to press for resolution of that travesty as well. As though his questionable birth were not enough---though it did not interfere with his gaining from Dartmouth both a BS and an MBA---he has in the past been an officer with those viscious Wall Street criminals, Goldman Sachs and Salomon Brothers. And ostentatiously capping it all is his position on the Board of Governors of the San Francisco Symphony.
Take back West County from the liberal elite! Gather together next Friday at Main and Bodega in Sebastopol---right after the peaceniks leave---and we’ll go out and stomp some meters!

real cute-let's see how clever you'll be after you get your bills after your smart meter installation.

Re: SmartMeter: The new tool to diagnose faulty ground rods, one house fire at a time?

Nope, grounding has nothing at all to do with the fires started by the installation of SmartMeters. And RF on ungrounded electrical systems doesn't cause fires either. And, there is no possible way that any SmartMeter installed on a residential service (240/120 volt single phase) could ever amplify the voltage up to 300-400 volts.

This is a classic example of people who don't know what they are talking about and making up science fiction stories to suit their own agenda. Personally, I despise SmartMeters and would never allow one on my property, but not for made up reasons like these that were done over 3 years ago. I think that most people have learned much more about the pitfalls of SmartMeters since 2010, knowledge of electrical power IS POWER !
