Earthworms ! What is the largest you have seen in Sonoma County?

The other day I moved some carpet scraps in a plastic bag that had been sitting on concrete. With the rain there was plenty of water and moisture there. Against the concrete wall was the largest earthworm I have ever seen. At first I thought it was a salamander, but wait, where are the legs?

This earthworm was at least 6-8" long and perhaps 1/2" wide.

We don't use artificial fertilizers and limit tilling of the soil.

Here is an interesting link to learn more about earthworms...

We saw one the other day at first thought it was a snake. Organic compost and manure and there are worms a plenty!
