Buy, Sell, and Trade Local Homegrown Produce!

VeggieTrader: Sharing Produce, Plants and Seeds with Your Neighbors!

Today I was reading the SuperForest.org(which is awesome btw) blog and came upon this super cool new website! VeggieTrader - Your place to trade, buy or sell local homegrown produce

If you have a garden of any sort or grow your own food and sometimes find you have some left over, there's a new website perfect for you!

The website itself probably does the best job of explaining what it’s all about:

Wish you could turn your excess plums into lemons, or maybe
even a little cash? Use this site to find neighbors to swap with
or sell your excess produce to. Or if you specialize in growing tomatoes, find neighbors who specialize in other produce and
form networks to share in the variety. Even if you don’t have a garden, Veggie Trader is your place for finding local food near you.

Here's how it works. So, you sign up (which takes seconds and is totally free), you browse or post listings for certain produce in your area (a lot like Craigslist), and then you make the transaction (buy, sell, or trade)! This site is literally months old. By the looks of VeggieTrader, people haven't caught onto this new website around here yet, so it would be really awesome to get it going!

You're welcome to use the For Sale category of WaccoBB.net for these types of transactions as well. Unless its a significant commercial endeavor its free to post, otherwise its cheap!

Another new site, much closer to home, is Sonoma County Harvest Share, "connecting people in Sonoma County with abundant produce to people who can use it." Check it out! -Michael
