    Bear in Sebastopol??

We were told that someone spotted a bear on our property (Bodega Hwy at Furlong) a few weeks ago (and we didn't believe it) and then today found scat in front of our house that really looks like bear scat...has anyone seen bears around here recently or in the past? seems like there just isn't enough continuous space here to support a black bear but i'm starting to wonder....

A few weeks ago in Petaluma there were multiple sightings of a black bear. Helicopters were out one night trying to spot it but no luck. I'd check the Argus Courier or call an authority in Petaluma to ask what they know.

If its bears you want, look no further than Guerneville. Were swimming in bears out here.

Yes there are bears out here. We have been seeing them on Silala just west of you a bit. There are sightings all over - and have been. Be careful and be especially careful of trash storage, pets, chickens etc. - food sources that may attract them and cause them to have more human interactions than wild bears normally are comfortably with.
