    Wildlife Rescue, Sonoma County

A couple of days ago I came upon a very young mouse or RAT. Not sure which. It was on the street, here in the mobile home park, and when it moved, I simply could not just leave it there to be run over. It could move but rather slowly.

After I had determined I could not just set it in an open field...crows around...I found out about the WILDLIFE RESCUE of Sonoma County. Their :) HOT LINE number is 707-526-WILD. Business 707-544-6713. www.scwildliferescue.org.

This is a VERY WORTHY ANIMAL RESCUE ORGANIZATION RUN BY VOLUNTEERS. They were kind enough to have someone meet me at their office even though it was on Monday which is the day they are not open.

I realize they may not be able to save the animal but if they determine that, they do the humane thing. It is still kinder than leaving the poor thing to be crushed.. particularly when it might very well live.

Just thought others might like to keep this organization in mind, and if you can volunteer or donate in any way, I know they would appreciate it.

Helen, Thanks for mentioning Wildlife Rescue. My daughter and I are going to their volunteer orientation this saturday from 10-12:30. They look like a great organization and I would encourage anyone who wants to be a volunteer to call them.

Thank you Helen. It's kind of you to think that way.
