Sewing volunteers to clothe naked puppets

In May, The Independent Eye is producing a puppet/mask adaptation of the Sumerian "Inanna" myths, DESCENT OF THE GODDESS INANNA, in Sebastopol. It jumps between myth and present-day reality-- Well, I'll tell you more if you're interested. To get the story on us, visit .

The production involves 18 large puppets, and we're seeking volunteers for sewing costumes. We have one excellent person, but this requires multiple hands. We can't offer money, but we can offer comp tickets, profuse thanks, and really interesting artistic challenges. You can come to rehearsals, you can offer design ideas, you can be part of the team to whatever degree works for you. And likewise, in terms of time, whether you have lots or little, anything's useful.

If you are still looking for folks to help, I would love to. My sewing skills are basic but I have a good eye for design, color, etc. Years ago while assisting with Godspell, I created and designed a number of hand held puppets.
