Hi Everyone,

We are having a fundraiser with raffle prizes and silent auction, along with a Bone Marrow Donor Drive on Sunday, May 20. It is to try to find a bone marrow donor match for my brother-in-law, Tim Rivers, to help him with a successful bone marrow transplant in his fight against Lymphoma (blood/lymphatic cancer), and to raise money to help cover his medical expenses.

The actual events are happening in Pollock Pines, just north of Placerville, but I live here in Sonoma County and I'm asking community members, local merchants, and generous souls to donate raffle prizes and/or nice silent auction items to be auctioned off at the dinner event.

If you're not able to donate items, we are gratefully accepting tax-deductible monetary donations for Tim's medical expenses at the National Transplant Assistance Fund at https://www.transpla ntfund.org/ Restricted/ patient-detail. cfm?pat_id=1944& CFID=4948896& CFTOKEN=88751138
(* you'll need to cut & paste this into browser, and may need to type 'Rivers' to get to Tim's donation page)

Please contact me with any questions, to donate items locally, or become a bone marrow donor (testing with a cheek swab is free May 6-20, and can be done by mail or at a local donation center).

Thank you for your consideration! !

The Tim Rivers Disc Golf Tournament, Bone Marrow Testing
and Spaghetti Dinner

May 20, 2007

The friends and family of Tim and Maureen Rivers are asking for
your support for the Tim Rivers Spaghetti Dinner. Why? A young father
and husband's life is at stake.

Tim Rivers is the 39-year-old father of six-year-old Evan and
two-year-old Erica. They and Tim's wife Maureen live in Pollock
Pines. Mr. Rivers has stage three lymphoma – a rare (less than 1% of
lymphoma patients suffer from this strain of cancer) and aggressive
form of cancer called Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma. His chances
for survival are heavily tied to his ability to find a bone marrow
donor of Yugoslavian, Slovenian or German heritage.

Tim and Maureen's friends and family have banded together in
order to hold a one-day event that will provide bone marrow donor
testing at no cost, as well as raise funds for he family to use to
pay for medical expenses. The bone marrow testing is important,
because finding a successful donor can increase Tim's survivability
chances by 65% over a five-year period, according to his doctors at
Stanford Medical Center.

We are all asking for your support of Tim's life by providing
us with prizes we can raffle off during the Spaghetti dinner and, if
possible, a larger prize we can auction off at a silent auction
scheduled for the same evening. Please feel free to contact Carol or
Steve Steinbrecher at 530-647-2874 for any additional information you
might need, or if you have any questions.

All sponsors will be thanked at various times during the dinner
and we are creating a "Wall of Thanks" which will proudly display
your company's logo. If you would like to join the "Wall of Thanks"
please provide a copy of your logo either electronically or on a
sheet of paper.

Thank you for your support of this most worthy cause.

Most Sincerely,
Carol Steinbrecher
