Fire Safe Occidental is a volunteer organization dedicated to promoting the safety of Occidental residents (that is, the area stretching from Camp Meeker on the north, Jonive Road on the east, Freestone on the South, and Coleman Valley on the west.) Technically, Fire Safe Occidental encompasses the entire Occidental Community Services District (OCSD), plus Burl Lane.
Next Meeting
This is an early-stage volunteer organization with a 14-person steering committee.
February 24th 2 to 4 pm
CYO Camp Main Lodge 2136 Bohemian Hwy (up the hill)
Come join other Occidental neighbors as we work to reduce our risk of fire and become better prepared in the event of an emergency.
At the meeting we will be sharing many of the successes of some existing neighborhood groups, ideas for evacuation plans, and offering suggestions for improved communications before and during emergencies. Whether you are a homeowner or a renter, your presence at this meeting is encouraged! It takes all of us in creating a “Fire Safe Community”.
