    2 openings on the Local Task Force on Integrated Waste Management


    The City of Sebastopol invites interested citizens to
    Volunteer and apply for two (2) openings on the
    Local Task Force on Integrated Waste Management.


    The duties of the Task Force are to develop goals, policies, and procedures which are consistent with guidelines and regulations adopted by the Board, to guide the development of the Siting Element of the County-wide integrated waste management plan. The LTF is an advisory body, making recommendations to the Sonoma County Waste Management Agency and the Board of Supervisors, but mostly the LTF is a citizen group working with other interested parties to further right-minded recycling activities and support good recycling and solid waste policy in the County.

    Membership of the Local Task Force on Integrated Waste Management shall be comprised of representatives from each City and the County, organizations with technical expertise, and other interested parties as listed below:

    • Local Enforcement Agent (recommending agency - Environmental Health Division),
    • Department of Transportation and Public Works,
    • Solid Waste Industry Representative (2),
    • Climate Change Organization,
    • Non-Profit Recycling Organization,
    • Sonoma County Recycling Association,
    • League of Women Voters,
    • Sierra Club,
    • Agriculture Industry (recommending agency - Sonoma County Ag. Commissioner),
    • Chamber of Commerce (recommending agency - Council of C. of C. Directors),
    • Marketing Specialist,
    • Scientist,
    • Education Representative,
    • Clean Water Organization,
    • Community Representatives (five - one selected by each County Supervisor).
    • The city representatives may be elected officials, staff members, or citizens of the city.

    All applications wth orginal signatures must be submitted to the City Manager’s Office no later than July S~ 2018 by 4:00 pm. An interview before the City Council may be scheduled for a later date.
