Dear Community : I am forwarding this and hoping to make more people aware of the issue and our opportunity to voice opinions to our planning commission. If you don't know why this important, please do a bit of research about what is at stake. URGENT URGENT URGENT

The City of Sebastopol just signed a tolling agreement with Verizon which extends the currently ticking "shotclock" to July 31, 2018. So, we have until that date or sooner to DENY the Major Use Permit application by Verizon or to COMPEL them to withdraw the application.

To further compound what we are facing, the Planning Comm. will initiate discussions at Tuesday's meeting to update the 1996 Telecom Ordinance. (See Agenda and staff report here. It's item 10B) It appears to us that the 75' setback will be removed from a separate ordinance in order to update the Telecom Ord. to allow Verizon access to all the City's poles. Currently, this 75' setback requirement, which is a separate ordinance and not a part of the Telecom Ord., requires that the Major Use Permit be DENIED, so by removing it, approval is given to Verizon.

We MUST fill up this meeting because we also suspect that the Planning Comm. will want to complete the updating ASAP so that they can approve Verizon. We MUST all voice our opposition to Verizon and their plan to massively increase radiation in our neighborhoods. We would like to have 50 people at a minimum Tuesday night.

If you were not coming to prior meetings because none of this was on the agenda, well, now it's on the agenda! It's time for us to speak up loudly and clearly!

It pains me to say this, but frankly, dear friends, we are dealing with life and death issues Tuesday @ 7PM.

We are already being cooked by the existing wireless radiation devices and now they want to massively increase that radiation with CPMRA (Close Proximity Microwave Radiation Emitting Antennas).

Picketing Verizon's store in the Redwood Marketplace will occur from 2PM - 3PM Sunday, 4/22/18. Verizon is located where Baskin Robbins Ice Cream was, next to the Mail Center, not far from Lucky's.

"Conclusions from scientific researchIn the area of biological effects and medical applications of non-ionizing radiation approximately 25,000 articles have been published over the past 30 years. Despite the feeling of some people that more research needs to be done, scientific knowledge in this area is now more extensive than for most chemicals. Based on a recent in-depth review of the scientific literature, the WHO concluded that current evidence does not confirm the existence of any health consequences from exposure to low level electromagnetic fields. However, some gaps in knowledge about biological effects exist and need further research.

Effects on general health

Some members of the public have attributed a diffuse collection of symptoms to low levels of exposure to electromagnetic fields at home.
