    what's up with this

My friend called me today, October 13, and said that Channel 2 in Oakland had broadcast this event on Thursday night at about 5:15pm on TV!!!! She said that some people who lived in the Coffey area in Santa Rosa had requested the Post Office to deliver their mail to their addresses if their mailboxes were still standing!!!!!!. Then you saw a Drone taking pictures of a Postal worker putting mail into the intact mailboxes!!!!! The Postal worker was waving up a Drone taking their picture. Is this completely insane!!!!!! First of all this area will be closed off to the public for days or weeks until it is safe to return so now a thief can sneak into this area and steal all that mail if he saw the TV broadcast.

Second, what is the postal worker doing in a restricted area without a mask and hazmat suit in a taxpayer work vehicle delivering mail to completely burned down homes when the postal department has provided a safe postal facility for these people to get their mail??????

My only thought on why these people wanted this to take place was that they thought that if their mailbox was still standing, maybe their home was ok since they are legally not allowed to get in this area to see if their homes were ok and the Drone, which I believe is not allowed to be there, can at least give them a view of their homes which they may have otherwise been unable able to see. Now I can not blame them for finding a way around the "rules", but the Post Master of Mistress who put their POSTAL WORKER in harms way needs to be fired and jailed......These people do not have to do this to get their mail!!!!!!l. Do they even think about the workers health who is driving though these areas for no reason??? No and this is why this Fire came here, as a wake up call to all to reevaluate your selfish ways and self centered values.Jenner Ninemires

Several things about this seem highly unusual: When does the PO overrule the order to enter an area closed off to the public? And when do they ever take orders from the public? Who's Drone was it, taking pictures and why? Who would want their mail sitting for who knows how long, even more vulnerable to theft, thanks to this broadcast? Maybe there's more than meets the eye....

This would have to be done on an ongoing basis, with increased mail theft a real possibility, and postal workers developing health issues from the exposure.

    Fascinating. Here's the story.

“This is an example of the long standing relationship that has been established between our carriers and their customers based on trust,” San Francisco District Manager Noemi Luna said in a statement. “The carrier in question was honoring a request by a few customers who were being let back in the fire zone to retrieve personal items. A few customers asked the carrier to leave their mail if the mailbox was still standing because they could not get to the annex to retrieve it.”
