CA voting guide from Our Revolution

(Our Revolution is the group formed out of Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign.)
    Our Revolution endorsements in Califonia:
    YES on California's Proposition 59
Proposition 59 instructs all of California's elected officials at the state and national level to act NOW to pass a 28th Amendment to the Constitution of The United States that would overturn the disastrous Citizens United ruling, and restore democracy. Seven times in our history, Americans have passed constitutional amendments to overturn misguided court rulings and the time has come to do so again. Please vote Yes on Proposition 59.
YES on California’s Proposition 61 - The California Drug Price Relief Act
Proposition 61 would allow the state of California to negotiate pharmaceutical drug prices by permitting Californians to purchase their medications at the same price as is paid by the U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs. This initiative would save California taxpayers billions of dollars, enable millions of Californians to afford lifesaving, needed medications and open the floodgates to similar initiatives around the country. Please vote Yes on Proposition 61.
YES on California’s Proposition 62 - The Repeal of the Death Penalty Initiative
Proposition 62 would repeal the death penalty, making life in prison without the possibility of parole the maximum punishment for murder in California. It would be applied retroactively to those already sentenced to death. The measure would also require all persons found guilty of murder to work while in state prison in order to pay debts to victims of the crime committed. Please vote Yes on Proposition 62.
YES on California’s Proposition 64 - Adult Use of Marijuana Act
Proposition 64 would legalize recreational marijuana consumption for adults aged 21. A YES vote would also allow adults to cultivate up to six plants in their home, indoors or outdoors, as long as it’s not visible to the public. As legalization of marijuana in other states has shown, allowing for marijuana use among adults in a safe, legal and taxed environment is far more advantageous than the failed “War on Drugs” approach of past decades. Please vote Yes on Proposition 64.
NO on California’s Proposition 66 - Death Penalty Procedure
A NO vote opposes changing the procedures governing state court appeals and petitions that challenge death penalty convictions and sentences, and would keep the current system for governing death penalty appeals and petitions. Proposition 66 and Proposition 62 contradict each other, so if both are passed, the one with the most "yes" votes would supersede the other. Please vote No on Proposition 66.
YES on Proposition 58 - Non-English Languages Allowed in Public Education Act
Presently, California schools are restricted to English-only instructional methods. Prop 58 would update the law to make sure all California students are given the opportunity to learn English in the most effective method possible. It also encourages programs for native English users to become proficient in a second language. Please vote Yes on Proposition 58.
YES on Proposition 67 - Plastic Bag Ban Veto Referendum
Proposition 67 would prohibit large grocery stores and other stores from providing customers single–use plastic or paper carryout bags but would permit sale of recycled paper bags and reusable bags. A wide variety of environmental groups, public officials, unions and city governments have endorsed Proposition 67 because the ban will protect oceans and wildlife while also reducing clean-up costs. Please vote Yes on Proposition 67.

Re: CA voting guide from Our Revolution

It seems that at least on the State Propositions, the Progressive Sebastopol Voter Guide is fully aligned with Bernie's Second American Revolution! Although I am not sure why they did not weigh in on, as we do on here, Prop 55, to extend the tax on the wealthiest Californians? This brings in billions each year for education. This might have been an oversight.

    Thanks for posting Glia!
