Local writing/creative groups?

I'm curious to find out about any supportive writing/creative groups in the area (within short, easy drive of Santa Rosa). I'd like to get back in to doing writing and other creative work (like acting, filmmaking and other things), and I'm looking for a supportive structure for that -- free or low fee preferred. I'm not really looking for a class or workshop -- more an ongoing group where people support each other in their work. I'm also interested in collaborative groups where people work together on projects.
Any recommendations or ideas?

NaNoWriMo is just around the corner. Now would be a great time to get a writers' group started, and share preparations and plans for some write-ins.
