Grower's Exchange, Hessel Grange, every Wed., 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The opening of the Hessel Grange's weekly Grower's Exchange last week offered a lot of food to buy or exchange. It will continue every week through October 8. Please pass the word. If you have questions, please call Jeannine at the number below or email her at [email protected]. All are welcome to bring food and related items and to join us for community and family fun.

    Hi everyone,

The Growers Exchange had a great start on June 18th. Our 'regulars' are back as well as new vendors and new items to exchange or purchase. We had lemons, eggs, loquats, rhubarb, wood cutting boards, soaps, balm and Fop- Doodle Farms usual array of wonderful produce. Andrea Park also has her sprouts available and Karen brought her goat cheese.

As usual, due to fire concerns, parking is limited to the gravel parking lot as it was last year. The grassy area near the tables may only be used for loading/unloading as necessary. In addition, cigarette smoking is permitted only in the graveled parking area. The Grange sponsors the Exchange and allows us the use of their facilities. Your consideration of their concerns is appreciated.

Doggie Guidelines: In order to preserve safety and sanitation for all concerned, dogs must be on leash around the picnic tables or closely supervised elsewhere. A good area for dogs to run would be the large grassy area at the end of the parking lot between the road and the gazebo. A sign will be posted to designate the area and poop bags provided. Please use them as necessary. Everyone thanks you in advance for your cooperation!

Membership in the Grange is not required for Exchange participation but everyone is encouraged to support the Grange however they choose. Membership is one way, as well as volunteering for maintenance or improvement projects, weed whacking, etc.

    See you there.....

The Hessel Grange Community Grower's Exchange

Everyone is invited! Bring your neighbors and friends!

Come join us at the Hessel Grange Community Grower’s Exchange where you can meet your neighbors who grow good food and then trade what they have extra.

Hessel Grange 5400 Blank Rd every Wednesday at 4:30 to 6:30PM through October 8th.

The Grower’s Exchange started several years ago with neighbors getting together and trading their extra veggies. We have grown since and continue to encourage knowing where your food comes from.

There is a $1 vendor fee to participate and you don't need to bring anything to attend. Some of your neighbors just enjoy the afternoon learning about what grows well in our area and pick up some good information for their own gardening adventures. As the season progresses, we will have lots of veggies, plants, eggs, apples, herbs and a variety of jams and pickled products. Use your imagination - exchanging works!

Not everyone attends every Wednesday and some only come once during the whole season. You never know what to expect, but you can expect to meet some friendly people, get some outstanding home grown food and have a good time.

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD ! ! ! You will enjoy the company!

Please contact Jeannine at 829-7659 for more information
