Default Where to recycle empty printer toner cartridge?
Location: Sebastopol

I am wondering where the best place to recycle my old printer toner cartridge would be? I assume I can't put it in the recycling bin because it probably has some toxic toner leftover inside.

I also have broken metal window blinds I'd like to recycle. Would that go into the bin, or should I take it to the re-use area at the Sonoma dump?

I tried researching these questions online, but after hours of clicking and reading, haven't found a straight answer.

Thank you for reading this and hopefully having the answers.

Last Saturday I took my cartridge to the Guerneville transfer station and they took it at the office. I don't know if it's their practice to do so but you can try it.

I dropped mine off at the small computer/printer store at the corner of Hutchins and 116 in Sebastopol (2 blocks south of McDonald's)

ThIs Saturday, there's a huge recycling event at the Guerneville Park and Ride, which is just west of town; the ads for this say they will take everything, including large appliances.

It's called Inksale.com

They also have a store in Petaluma.

They have good prices on generic ink, they will replace faulty cartridges they sell; reliable good customer service skills.

Always check the volume when you compare prices, some offer twice as much ink for a comparable price on a name brand.

Tell them you heard it from Colleen & other Wacco posts.

The more we do this, the more businesses will see how important word of mouth, and good service, is; and how helpful our tools are to spread the word; good or otherwise.

By using these examples of noticing what works well, or not, we can help keep good local businesses going, and maybe help faulty ones improve before they go under, so we can all be served well and prosper.

Office Depot will recycle these. I think the used computer store on Santa Rosa Ave south of Hearn will take them as well.

There's a place that sells printer cartridges and takes the old ones in Sebastopol in the little mall where McDonald's and the Legacy store are located. Good deals on cartridges new and refilled.

The school I work at in Petaluma collects printer toner cartridges. (We must get money for them.) You could check with your local school.
